(This is a simple candle making project, but I’m going
to assume that you know some basics about candlemaking -
type of wax to use, equipment you’ll need, etc. ...Get a
book from the library if it’s all hazy.)
Use waxed milk cartons as the forms... Open up the tops
of the cartons and spray the insides lightly with cooking
spray. Anchor a tall, thin taper candle in a base of melted
wax (say, 1-2" deep). Fill the carton with ice cubes
for another few inches, to a couple of inches below the top
of the taper. Pour in more hot wax to the top of the ice -
when it sets, pour off the water. Finish by pouring a last
layer of solid wax to just cover the top of the taper,
leaving the wick clear. The oiled carton should allow the
candle to slip out when you’re done.
